THE Northern Free Fighters are
members of DFM Martial Arts Group and fight out of the Fight Academy
gym in Tweedmouth, Berwick, Northumberland.
Run by DFM Head Instructor Rob Currah, and team of instructors
Liam Holborn, Dave Brown And Sean Phillips. The Northern Free
Fighters compete in major MMA and Thai tournaments across the UK
including DFM’s Cage Fight Nights which we help host.
The Fight Academy is based in 28 to 34 Main
Street, Tweedmouth, Berwick, Northumberland, and teaches MMA,
Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Wrestling, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Boxing, Stregnth & Conditioning
and Grappling.
The Northern Free Fighters motto is, Dux Bellorum translates to “Leader of Battles“,
quoted by the great warrior known as Artorious, Leader of the
Britons in famous battles is fitting for a Northern fight team.

Monday 6 – 7 Beginers & Advanced. 7-8.30 (Striking and Take-downs)
Tuesday 5.15 – 6.15 (Strength & Conditioning) BJJ 6.30 -
Wednesday 6-7 Beg & Adv. 7- 8.30 (Grappling and Wrestling)
Thursday 5.30 – 7 (MMA technical Sparring, Gi, No Gi BJJ and Wrestling)
Friday 6 -7 Beg & Advanced. 7 –8.30 (Sparring)
Saturday 9.30 – 11.30 (Open Mat, BJJ)
Sunday 10 – 12 (Squad Training & Open mat, BJJ)
Seminars and private tuition is available on request.
We grade All
martial Arts to a Jnr. Instructor level and above, So if its belts
you want to work towards then we can accommodate.
The classes offer an excellent cardio-vascular
workout and take students through both the stand up and ground
strategies of MMA.
The classes are for those who want to compete in
the cage and also those who want to use its exercise programme to get
fit for any sport from football and rugby to athletics.
Lessons are held on matted areas and focus mitts,
shields and kick bags are used to develop explosive kicking and
punching. Crash mats are used so students can practice shooting in
safely,m also a full size ring for the sparring and fight experience.
Club members can participate in any other DFM
Martial Arts school across the North East.
The school has a coloured belt grading up to black
belt and a junior and senior instructor programme in MMA or
individual martial arts.
